Important Notice for Indians seeking Turkish visa

Back | Print

As of 1st January, 2015, foreigners wishing to enter into Turkey must carry a passport or travel document with an expiration date at least 60 days beyond the date of expiration of their visa, visa exemption, or residence permit.

Indian nationals who intend to visit Turkey on the basis of a Turkish e-Visa are advised to carefully read and comply with the prerequisites and must ensure that they meet the criteria for obtaining an e-Visa for Turkey. One of the pre-requisites is that one should hold a valid supporting document. The prescribed supporting document can either be a valid Schengen visa or a valid visa from any of the OECD member countries; or a valid residence permit of a Schengen or OECD country. Please note that e-Visas are not accepted as a supporting document.

The validity of the Turkish eVisa is directly linked to the validity of the supporting documents (Schengen visa etc). Turkish eVisa is valid only on the dates on which the supporting document is valid.
