Important Announcement regarding Celebrations to mark the 74th Independence Day of India

The Embassy of India in Ankara wishes to inform all members of the Indian community and friends of India that in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the celebrations to mark the 74th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2020 would be restricted only to the members of Embassy  in respecting the sanitary and social distancing norms.  While this Mission understands your desire to stand as a proud member of the Indian community and friend of India during the hoisting of the National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem on this auspicious occasion, we are unfortunately constrained by the prevailing circumstances to restrict public gathering for this year’s Independence Day celebrations.  We seek your understanding and hope that the situation will normalise soon so that we can celebrate our National Day (Republic Day) on 26 January 2021 in a befitting manner.
