Indians Celebrate International Yoga Day in Cappadocia

World Yoga Day event was celebrated by Indians in Cappadocia after 21 June was accepted as World Yoga Day by the United Nations.

One of Turkey's most important tourism centers, Cappadocia region hosted World Yoga Day celebration events. Indian Ankara Ambassador Sanjay Kumar Panda, Nev?ehir Deputy Governor Kübra Kurto?lu, Göreme Mayor Ömer Eren and an Indian group attended the yoga activities held at the entrance of Zemi Valley in Göreme town of Nev?ehir's central district. While the yoga event held among the unique beauties of fairy chimneys continued for approximately 45 minutes, Sanjay Kumar Panda, the Ambassador of India to Ankara, said that it is a unique experience for us to do yoga with such a wonderful view. Kumar Panda said, "We are bringing yoga to Cappadocia. There was already yoga in Cappadocia. The Ambassador of India to Ankara Sanjay Kumar Panda stated that the World Yoga Day events, held for the fifth time this year, are of particular importance as they coincide with the 75th anniversary of India's independence. Kumar Panda said, "The program we are doing here today is a program that will only take place in Turkey. The name of our program is International Yoga Day. The International Yoga Day was accepted by the United Nations in 2014 with the suggestion of India and is celebrated on June 21 every year.
