Dance show in memory of Indian guru Tagore

As part of the Tagore Festival the dance show “Rituranga: Abundance of Sessions” has been performed in memory of guru, artist and poet Rabindranath Tagore’s 158th birthday anniversary.

The Kalamandalam group invited by the Embassy of India in Ankara,displayed their show at the Leyla Gencer Theatre. The performance has been attended by foreign mission representatives, art-lovers and other invitees.
The evening was hosted by AmbassadorSanjay Bhattacharyya and his spouse.
During the show songs representing the seasons Grishma (Summer), Varsha (Monsoon), Sarat (Early Autumn), Hemanta (Late Autumn) Sheet (Winter), Vasantha (Spring) have been played.
DANCE AND POETRY COMBINED
An unforgettable evening has been prepared to the invitees by the dancers with colourful outfits reflecting the Indian culture, accompanied by different compositions of Tagore songs. The invitees enjoyed artistic scenes of Tagore’s life by means of cinevision during the dance performances.
Tagore was born in May 1861 in the city of Calcutta and is among the ones deeply influenced by the literature and music of Bengal.
The festival with its dance show,art exhibition, film screening and lectures is to be continued in various cities this month.

In cooperation with the Consulate General of India in Istanbul, the Nilüfer Municipality organized the performance of the “Rituranga: Abundance of Sessions” dance show by the Kalamandalam group from India.

Having been in many countries in the world like Japan, Germany, France and America, the first performance of the Kalamandalam group in Turkey has now taken place at the Konak Culture House in Nilüfer, Bursa.
The show has been attended by TurgayErdem, Major of the Nilüfer Municipality, Purnojyoti Mukherjee, the Consul General of India in Istanbul and Mehmet Erbak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uluda? Drinks.
During the show songs representing the seasons Grishma (Summer), Varsha (Monsoon), Sarat (Early Autumn), Hemanta (Late Autumn) Sheet (Winter), Vasantha (Spring) have been played.
Offering flowers, TurgayErdem, Major of the Nilüfer Municipality, congratulated the dance group for their magnificent performance.
