ICCR Foundation Day Celebration on March 15, 2019

Embassy of India celebrated Indian Council of Cultural Relationamprsquos (ICCR) Foundation Day on March 15, 2019, with a performance by the musical band Baiju Dharmajan Syndicate, at the Tagore Hall in Embassy Premises. The function was opened byAmbassadoramprsquos speech who touched upon the history of ICCR and the role ICCR plays in promoting the Indian culture abroad. He also spoke on the vision of Maulana AbulKalam Azad, independent Indiaamprsquos first Education minister who had founded ICCR in 1950. ICCRamprsquos objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programs pertaining to Indiaamprsquos external cultural relations to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people, and to develop relations with nations. The attendees were thrilled by a scintillating performance by Baiju Dharmajanamprsquos band, a music group sponsored by ICCR.
